Terms & Conditions
Thank you for shopping with Orkney Soap. We're a small, independent maker based in the Orkney Islands, and every hand & body wash, lotion and reed diffuser we sell is made in small batches and finished by hand here on the islands. These terms explain how ordering from us works. If anything isn't clear, just email us at hello@orkneysoap.co and we'll be happy to help.
About Our Products
Because everything is made by hand in small batches, colour, scent strength and labels may vary slightly from one batch to the next and from the photos on our website. We think that's part of the charm of a handmade product.
- Hand & body washes and lotions are for external use only. Avoid contact with eyes. If you have sensitive skin or known allergies, please check the full ingredient list on our Our Ingredients page before buying, and stop using a product if irritation occurs.
- Reed diffusers and refills contain fragrance oil. Keep them out of reach of children and pets, do not swallow, and avoid contact with skin and eyes. The oil can mark polished, painted or wooden surfaces, so please stand your diffuser on a coaster or tray and take care when flipping the reeds. Please read the safety information on the label.
Orders and Payments
Once you place your order, you'll receive an email confirming we've received it, and a second email once it has been dispatched from Orkney.
We accept all major credit and debit cards. All prices are in pounds sterling (GBP). Payments are processed securely at checkout; we never see or store your full card details.
Please double-check your delivery address before completing your payment. We can't accept responsibility for orders sent to an incorrect address given at checkout.
If a product is unavailable after you've ordered, for example because a batch has sold out, we'll contact you and offer a full refund or an alternative.
Delivery
All orders are packed by hand and posted from Orkney. We aim to dispatch within 2–3 working days, and standard UK delivery usually takes 3–5 working days after dispatch. Island ferries and Orkney weather can occasionally add a day or two, especially during busy periods, so we appreciate your patience.
We offer free UK delivery on orders over £50. We currently deliver within the UK only. If you'd like to order from outside the UK, please get in touch and we'll do our best to help.
Full details are on our Delivery & Returns page.
Returns and Refunds
We want you to love your Orkney Soap order. If you change your mind, you can cancel or return your order within 14 days of receiving it.
- To start a return, email hello@orkneysoap.co with your order number.
- Unopened, unused products in their original packaging can be returned for a full refund.
- For hygiene reasons, we can't accept returns of opened washes, lotions or diffusers unless they are faulty.
- If a product comes back used, opened or damaged, we may refuse or reduce the refund.
- Refunds are made to your original payment method within 14 days of us receiving your return.
Damaged or faulty items: Bottles occasionally have a rough journey across the Pentland Firth. If your order arrives damaged, leaking or faulty, please email us with a photo as soon as possible and we'll put it right straight away. This does not affect your statutory rights.
